Eeek!

Thursday, August 25th, 2005

I normally don’t kill spiders, unless they look pregnant or are really creepy - like the one I killed this morning. It sort of looks like a coffee bean or something. It was very freaky looking so I took a few pictures (of course) and then killed it with my flip-flop. It made a loud crunch sound and that bean was all liquid. Gross!!! You can’t tell from the photo, but it’s about the size of a nickel.

Looking for ugly animals? Check out this strange bug :)

Multi-Talented Super Stars

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005

Ok, this is ridiculous. It feels a little embarrassing to admit this, but I used to be a HUGE Mötley Crüe fan back in the day. My obsession started in eighth grade. I had those heart-throb posters plastered all over my walls depicting all aspects of their career, from the early makeup days to the Dr. Feelgood craziness. Bought every cd and a music video documentary. Unfortunately like most bands I end up liking, I caught them at the end of their career and never saw them in concert.

Anyway, I’ve digressed. The point of this rant is that now Tommy Lee has a TV show, “Tommy Lee Goes to College.” How ridiculous is that? Why on earth would anyone be interested in watching that show? Who the heck even likes Mötley Crüe or any of it’s failing members anymore? I feel that I have every right to say this, being that I used to be a big fan. I watched about five minutes of it, just to confirm it’s badness (bad as in horribly stupid, not really cool). Surely this show will not last, and should not have been made in the first place.

This brings me to related topic that bothers me… The fact that some famous people think they can - and should - do everything. Well I strongly disagree. Just because a person can sing, doesn’t mean they can also act, design clothing, produce TV shows and who knows what else. And the worst part is, the people who are usually doing all of these things can’t even do ONE of them well. What is this world coming to?

Switched to WordPress

Monday, August 22nd, 2005

I’ve made the switch to WordPress. It offers a lot of blogging tools that would have taken forever for me to add into my own admin system. So far I like it a lot and would highly recommend it. I’m not sure yet if I’m going to transfer my old blog entries. In the mean time, they are still accessible here, and always will be.

Trip to Niagara Falls

Tuesday, August 16th, 2005

I finally began uploading some photos to my Flickr account. I decided to start with some well over due photos of my trip to Niagara Falls back in February with my dad, his girlfriend, Felicia, and my half brother Ricky.

The three of them flew up to Ohio from Texas and stayed with me (I was in Shaker Hts at the time). Dad rented a car and we drove up to Niagara. There was A LOT of snow on the ground, everything was frozen over. Especially around the falls. A layer of ice formed on top because of the mist. We started skating on this one patch of ice/snow. Wed start on top of this gradual hill and slide down on our feet. A bunch of people began to follow. Later on when we were in the tower, we could still see people skating. It was a blast!

Magical Place

Monday, August 15th, 2005

I was sitting in Steve’s backyard yesterday talking to Dana on the phone and looking around it felt sort of magical - there was a hummingbird buzzing around high overhead, two dragonflies dancing about, a couple of butterflies crossing back and forth, along with some other birds landing on various tree branches. I just have to say it one more time - I love this place :)
